      Hints & Tips

We have rounded up our award experts' advice, judges insights and most commonly asked questions to provide you with all the tips you need to get started.

      What is the entry process?

Firstly, please register yourself on our online portal. We suggest doing this early before you are ready to submit to save yourself time further down the line.

The next step is to write your executive summary. This should be included as plain text within the online entry form. You do not need to include this as part of your PDF submission.

You will then continue through the portal, upload your submission and confirm your payment method.

Our independent judging will then take place, and entries will be scored using our judging criteria. All scores are reviewed by PwC to ensure judging is fair and transparent throughout. From the scores, we will create the shortlist which will be announced on the website.

What does a winning entry look like?

Taking a look at last year’s top scoring entries, we were able to distinguish similarities between the entries which helped to elevate their submission.

      • Clients and work

These all showcased a strong portfolio of clients and work. You could look to include client testimonials, or statistics which prove how successful a piece of work or case study was.

      • Business performance

This is a vital part of your entry so try to include statistics, percentages and graphs to help strengthen your submission.

      • Visuals

This can include videos, team photos, sizzle reels and images of your work. Including lots of visuals in your entry really helps to give your entry its own personal touch, and it helps judges to get a feel for your brand and image.

What are the judges looking for?

We have captured some insight from our judging panel to help give you further awareness into what our judges are looking for.

      • Simplicity executed effectively - submissions do not need to be complex

      • A strong business performance showcased throughout your entry

      • Be authentic to your brand and innovative

What is the criteria for entering a category?

Criteria varies depending on the category you are entering so please check the entry kit for a full breakdown of the entry criteria. The entry kit can be found on our website.

Are there any templates we can use?

The global awards work slightly differently to our regional awards, so we do not have any templates for entrants to use. We do this to encourage entrants to get creative with their submissions and think outside the box.

What happens after I have submitted my entry?

Sit tight while our panel of expert judges carefully look through your submission. Keep an eye on the website for our shortlist announcement in March, and for updates on our live awards ceremony due to be held in London in May 2023!

      Judges

      Judging Process

All Agency of the Year awards are judged exclusively by brand marketers, rather than by agencies. This means that by entering an AOTY award scheme, you get your entry in front of senior marketers with a global or pan regional remit.

To ensure fairness and transparency, the process involves checking performed by PwC as the Global Process Integrity Partner of the UK, US and Global Agency of the Year Awards. PwC looks at Campaign's processes for entry evaluation, jury selection, jury voting and selection of the final winners of agency awards (note: People categories are not in scope for PwC's procedures)
