In 2017, when Jamie Elliott assumed leadership of The Gate, the agency was in dire straits. It had fallen out of the top 100 rankings in both creative and media and was loss-making. However, working to Jamie’s strategic blueprint The Gate has completed its turnaround from 2017 industry also-ran, to 2023 industry leader, following a defining 12 months in which it has amongst other things:

• Bucked the market trend with double digit revenue growth (for the 3rd year running) & further margin improvement. • Beaten global and domestic competition to end 2022 ranked 5th in Campaign’s New Business Ranking and to continue that record into 2023, currently ranked 7th. • Launched leading creative campaigns: “It’s OK, I’m with the AA” for The AA; ”Less malarkey, more SMARTY” for 3’s SMARTY Mobile; “Let’s make it sparkle” for Very. • Improved staff & client satisfaction measures • Added to the haul of 40+ awards won over the past 3 years - from Cannes to EFFIE Golds - with 2 x Golds and a Special Prize at APG, Best of Best Global EFFIE Gold shortlist and 2 x Kinsale Sharks.
