In 2021, UM not only added new clients to the roster, but also generated organic growth from existing clients by providing consultative services, such as research, analytics and eCommerce. As a result, UM Japan experienced topline revenue growth of +15.4% despite market GDP decline of -4.8%.
UM also introduced new data-driven methodologies in TV planning and buying, multi-channel optimization and lead indicator analysis to ensure that clients stay ahead of the changes in consumer behaviors. Finally, UM Japan has strengthened its operating model with new senior talent, consistent training and inclusive culture. UM’s ambition is to build brands that disrupt, rather than be disrupted.
